The World Premiere of “The Christmas Truce – A Christmas Miracle”
December 15 @ 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm MST
Experience an afternoon of enchanting holiday music and the world premiere of a new concert theatrical work, “The Christmas Truce – A Christmas Miracle” with script by James E. Harris and musical arrangements and orchestrations by Mark Hayes. Performed by the Chancel Choir and Valley Singers of Valley Presbyterian Church with a full orchestra, this inspiring story recounts the famous Christmas truce of 1914 when soldiers fighting each other in WWI ceased fire for 24 hours and instead sang Christmas carols and exchanged holiday gifts and pleasantries across the trenches. A British soldier who experienced that event shares the magic of that night with his young grandson many years later in this heartwarming theatrical production. This work is filled with lively WWI songs and familiar carols such as Silent Night and O Come, All Ye Faithful. It will leave you believing in the power of hope, joy and peace. Hayes will be at the podium conducting the world premiere.
The first half of the concert features the Chancel Choir, Valley Singers and full orchestra performing holidays favorites conducted by Mark Hayes and Kay Randolph. Hayes will treat the audience to some instrumental solos on the piano as well.
ADMISSION IS FREE! Come early to get a good seat. It will be a “sold-out” crowd. For more information go to https://vpc.church/music/
