Level C starts with a review of basic note-reading concepts and takes extra time to review legato and staccato in preparation for playing these two articulations simultaneously, one for each hand. Other concepts introduced include playing fourths and fifths in parallel motion; sixths, sevenths, and octaves; half and whole steps; major and minor pentascales; transposition; incomplete measures (upbeats); dotted half notes and dotted quarter notes; crossing finger two over finger one; and tenuto.
Level C reviews all the material in Level B and introduces the following new concepts:
intervals of sixths, sevenths, and octaves
upbeats incomplete measures)
major and minor pentascales
C, G, & F major triads
dotted half and quarter notes
