Level D features longer one- and two-page pieces supporting new concepts, including melodic and harmonic intervals; half and whole steps; C, G, D, and F major scales; primary triads in C, G, and F major; triads and inversions; key signatures; syncopation; eighth rests; dominant seventh chords; blocked and broken chords; and Alberti bass.
By Level D, students are playing more complex rhythms, chordal progressions, counter-melodies, and are introduced to the following new concepts:
