Based on Jeremiah 10 and Psalm 100:5, this dynamic text by John Parker extols the power and sovereignty of God and implores us to worship Him. Mark begins this anthem with a dramatic choral prologue “Give ear and listen to the voice of God.” The main theme is in E minor and contains crisp, rhythmic syncopation. Hayes has written a contrasting lyrical section which speaks of God’s more imminent qualities. The anthem finishes with a dynamic rhythmic section, repeating the phrase “There is no one like you, O Lord.” Suitable for general worship use.
