Quoting the New Living Bible translation of Romans 8:31-39, this stately anthem soars with drama and passion. The initial section is set in D minor, mildly reminiscent of Orff’s “Carmina Burana” and boldly proclaims “If God is for us, who can ever be against us?” Using a through composed form, Hayes artfully supports the scriptural text using several tempo and mood changes. The final section is a regal fugue in D Major that frames one of the great promises in this passage, “I’m convinced that nothing can separate us from His love”.

Written for Dr. Gary Bonner and the Gary Bonner Singers, this is an epic piece that calls for a choir that enjoys a challenge. The piano accompaniment is orchestral in scope and will be a delight to play for the experienced accompanist. A full orchestration and cinematic accompaniment is available. Duration: approx. 6 minutes.
