Featuring three solos and one duet, this creative arrangement pairs the old hymn, “The Solid Rock,” with a contemporary Christian ballad, “In Christ Alone.” The first phrase of the latter song sums it up, “In Christ alone I place my trust and find my glory in the power of the Cross.” The first section is somewhat symphonic sounding and features soloists with a fresh, but traditional approach to the hymn tune. These sections may also be sung by a group in unison. The latter half of the arrangement features “In Christ Alone” sung as a duet with choral backup in a more contemporary style. Suitable for ensembles as well as choirs. Strong soloists are needed.
